Roundel’s seminal identity for British Rail

March 1, 2018

"In 1992 when Bryan Edmondson was a fresh graduate he got a job at the design group Roundel. Five years earlier in 1987, the agency had completed a large and now cherished identity for British Rail’s Railfreight trains, an identity built of geometric shapes which has influenced countless designers since."

the fact that this design was made 31 years ago is mind blowing. no wonder it influenced so many designs later on into embracing the power of geometric shapes. it looks very modern and on trend still. maybe the choice of colors is out dated. but it still looks very simple and neat.
