A supermarket in the Netherlands has opened a plastic free aisle which is claiming to be the turning point in the war on plastic pollution. It is a global issue that influencers should shed light on as it is damaging the habitats of so many different environments, such as the ocean.
“Earlier this year, a Guardian investigation revealed that UK supermarkets were a major source of plastic waste, producing 1m tonnes a year. And for the past 12 months, campaigners have been calling for all supermarkets to offer a plastic-free aisle.” ….. i am so shocked, and also so guilty because i find myself buying from those packaged foods in the supermarket especially when i am aiming for something fast and easy.
This campaign is “an important stepping stone to a brighter future for food and drink”. Costumers will be offered indirectly to either chose to buy food with or without the packaging. And It is such an innovative way of testing out their choices.
This is such a major issue, yet this campaign kept it fairly simple in terms of not forcing it onto the consumers where they might feel overwhelmed with the negativity and inappropriate way of persuasion.
