Clerkenwell is home to more creative businesses and architects per square mile than anywhere else on the planet, making it truly one of the most important design hubs in the world. To celebrate this rich and diverse community, Clerkenwell Design Week has created a showcase of leading UK and international brands and companies presented in a series of showroom events, exhibitions and special installations that take place across the area.
Tote bags were introduced as an environmentally friendly replacement for the plastic bag. The intention was that tote bags could be reused over and over, having less of an impact on the environment.
At the CDW, visitors will be given the opportunity to recycle their unused tote bags, giving them a new lease of life in the hope that they will be reused for a longer duration. They will end up with a tote bag with a Clerkenwell touch to it.
Inspired by the different kinds of brinks and different patterns of tiles around Clerkenwell; the main architectural elements of the area have been combined together as a simple illustration forming a new tile design representing the designers. Also, showing how Clerkenwell is one of the most important design hubs in the world.
